URS Corp., a federal contractor that won a multimillion dollar contract at the Marine
Corps Logistics Base, is holding a job fair Thursday, Nov. 6, to look at prospective
candidates for 200 jobs in Barstow.

The 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. job fair will be held at Hilton Garden Inn Conference Center,
12603 Mariposa Road, Victorville.

URS Corp provides engineering, construction and technical services to public
agencies and private sector companies around the world.

The Logistics Base contract that URS has with the Marine Corps relates to vehicle
armor kits and vehicle maintenance. URS is hiring heavy equipment mechanics,
welders, auto body repair personnel, electronics technicians, automotive painters
and material coordinators.

In June, the firm reached out to the San Bernardino County Workforce Investment
Board to help recruit and screen employees. employ 285 staff members. Now, URS is
looking to hire an additional 200 workers. For its part, the investment board is holding
one-day recruitment events and job fairs to screen URS job candidates.
