Justin Ortega would have benefited from vocational training in high school. He had little work experience in construction and dabbled in basic welding. When the job ended he found himself unemployed without formal training and certifications.

The Workforce Development Board provided Justin assistance with tuition for basic welding skills training and transportation assistance. Justin completed his training on November 5, 2015 and is currently in the process of testing for his certification.

Justin applied for and was hired as a railcar repairman for GBW Railcar Services. He works full-time earning $16 per hour with opportunity for advancement.
