A stay-at-home mother of three, Marikate had decided to advance her career by pursuing a Licensed Vocational Nurse certificate (LVN). While enrolled in the program she couldn’t afford the testing fees and was at a standstill.

The WDB provided Marikate with the funds needed to take the NCLEX test for the LVN registration and license, as well as help with transportation so she could get to her follow-up appointments.

Marikate is currently employed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse with Maxim Health, which provides hospitals with nurses to run flu shot clinics. “I am so grateful for the support that was provided,” Marikate said. “Thank you so much for the generosity and for helping me to reach my goals.”
