After being laid off from his previous job, Michael spent two years working in temporary positions.

An internet search led him to the Workforce Investment Board, and he sought help from the West Valley America’s Job Center of California.

He expressed an interest in becoming a truck driver and qualified for Class A drivers training through Roadmaster. Michael also learned interview techniques, how to put together a professional resume and how to search various job sites for the right position.

“As soon as I completed my Class A training, I got a job working for Warner Enterprises. Initially I will be paid $450 per week while training, and then I will be paid $700-$800 per week,” said Michael.

“I finally have secure employment. I am so grateful that the Workforce Investment Board program has given me this opportunity to have a good paying and stable job.”
