San Bernardino, CA (October 21, 2014)—The San Bernardino County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members: Kristine D. Scott, Public Affairs Manager, Southern California Gas Company, and B.J. Patterson, Chief Executive Officer of Ontario-based Pacific Mountain Logistics. Patterson and Scott were appointed to the WIB by the County Board of Supervisors.

“We are enthusiastic about bringing on two new Workforce Investment Board members who know the local business climate and workforce landscape,” San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Chair, Janice Rutherford said.

As public affairs manager for the South Inland Region at SoCalGas, Kristine serves as the point of contact for communities located in San Bernardino County. In this role, she educates customers and stakeholders about SoCalGas activities, programs and services, responding to customer and local media inquiries and resolving customer complaints.

Kristine is an active member of numerous industry and nonprofit associations, including St. Bernadine Medical Center Foundation, Inland Empire Hispanic Leadership Council, Building Industry, the Salvation Army, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Redlands-Riverside, Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and more.

In 2012, Kristine received a “Woman of Distinction” award from the 63rd Assembly District, which honors women for contributions to the communities they work in. She has also received the “Volunteer of the Year” Award from the California Building Industry Association and was selected as “Associate of the Year” from the Building Industry Association, Baldy View Chapter in 2013.

Born and raised in Texas, B.J. Patterson is a 20-year veteran of the logistics industry. He spent seven years in the United States Navy, and earned his education at Texas A&M University.
His diverse experience and training has made him a decisive leader with a loyal following of seasoned logistics professionals.

Prior to joining Pacific Mountain Logistics, B.J. served as Vice President and General Manager of the Pacific and Mexico territories for RoadLink Transportation Solutions, a national intermodal trucking firm. He also held the position of Vice President, Western Region at NFI-Distribution and has held management positions at Target Stores and Wal-Mart.

“It is an honor to welcome B.J. and Kristine,” said Sandy Harmsen, Executive Director of the San Bernardino WIB. “They represent two of the demand sectors in San Bernardino County, utilities and logistics; their input is vital to our board.”
