After 23 years of employment at the same medical company, Sylvia Cramer, who has a PhD, was laid off.  She is the sole income earner of her household, as she is married to a disabled veteran who cannot work.

Sylvia received collaborative assistance from the Workforce Development Board and the Employment Development Department in the form of job search assistance and resume writing.

Sylvia was offered a position as Wellness Director at Ukiah Valley Medical Center.  She earns an impressive $49.50 per hour, equivalent to just over $102,000 a year, and was given a $10,000 relocation package.  “I want to thank the Workforce Development Board staff at the America’s Job Center of California for their time, support and professional guidance over the past few months,” Sylvia said.   “It gave me fortitude and hope to stay with the grueling job hunting process.”
